Question:
I really screwed up on the pharm 141 second midterm. I came extremely close to failing. Although the exam itself was not difficult, I did not prepare myself properly for it and was confusing all of the receptors. I know that if I studied a bit more, I could have done much better. I feel like garbage right now. How can I come back from this, because my first midterm mark was in the low 70s and I heard the final is hard?
Response 1: I remember the final is not much harder than the midterm. Low 70s is good, however, you certainly will get a better grade if you felt you could of done better with more preparation. Don’t be upset over one test. Your grade is not bad at all. This is also a good experience to overcome a bad test because IPFC tests may be difficult. I would consider what you’ve missed for the midterm and the testing style to prevent making the same mistake and to anticipate for future questions.
Response 2: When I do poorly on a midterm I look at it as a learning experience. Stressing about what you put down on the test doesn’t change your answers or change your grade, it only makes you upset. Instead, try and focus on what you can learn. Go see the professor to review your test so you can work on that material. Start studying for the final earlier. Review the material throughout the rest of the semester so you don’t get too behind. Remember - we are all in this together and we’ve all had bad midterm marks.
