Question:
I failed the 129 midterm and im really scared for the final. I made all my notes and am trying a lot harder this time but theres just so much content to memorize and her quizzes were so hard. do you have any tips for the final? and if you remember does she mainly test first line therapy and OTC products?
Response 1: Hey there! Pharm 129 was challenging for me as well and Nardine’s style of questions is sometimes difficult. I found it very helpful to talk to her during her office hours and get personal tips to succeeding in her course. She did emphasise the importance of case practise, wether you make the cases yourself or go through them up in a group. Talk to others and see how they are studying and maybe join a group in their study session to bounce off some material! Maybe take a look at previous responses here on the website, many mentors shared their thoughts regarding study techniques that might be helpful :)
Response 2:
For Pharm 129, one study method I found to be helpful were making summary notes for the minor ailments that were covered in class and through self-study with the MAP template. I also found Pharm 129 to be challenging as well, and the MAPs I made helped me organize my thoughts and information about each topic. Group study is also another great way to help solidify concepts that were discussed in class. I found that talking through some of the harder concepts and different lines of therapy helped me remember those concepts and reinforced what I learned when I studied on my own.
